Who We Are

“Clarian” is not a typo — it is a mash up of our middle names:  Claire (Jacky) and Ann (Rebecca).  We chose this name because “lawyering” isn’t the only thing we do. We also — among other things — love our crazy dogs (almost as much as our people!), travel whenever we can, and throw fabulous parties.

We met at a Georgetown alumnae event years after graduating from law school and quickly bonded over equally outsized laughs and wry senses of humor. Together we promoted and participated in a growing “old-girls’ network” of professional women, and discovered a shared enthusiasm for connecting people and designing elegant, practical solutions to everyday problems. Someone once described this skill set — forging connections and solving problems — as that of a professional best friend.  We’re OK with that. “Lawyering” is only part of what we do, but our clients get all of us.

We’d rather decorate with quirky art than certificates and degrees, but we provide a list below of the fancy pieces of paper we can drag out of storage for your perusal:
